Summer Paddle- Full Moon Paddle on Quonnie Pond

September 6 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm


Please join us for our free, guided kayak/canoe paddles on Thursdays. We will pass various local conservation lands, including some of our own Westerly Land Trust preserves. We’ll stop for a swim on some of the trips! These paddles are between 1 ½ to 3 hours long. Bring your own kayak/canoe, paddle, life jacket, whistle, water, snacks, etc.  Please arrive early: our trips leave promptly.

Wednesday, September 6        FULL MOON PADDLE

6:45 PM Quonnie Pond – Charlestown

Join us for a peaceful evening paddle on a full moon night. Quonnie Salt Pond will serve as the perfect backdrop for a moonlit tour. We’ll put in at Meet at 6:45PM. No car shuttle. Bring swimsuit for moonlight dip and jacket in case it’s cool. Take West Beach Road off Rte 1 in Charlestown. Turn right at end of road and follow to end. Go right again until you reach the RI DEM boat launching area.

  • PFD’s: Personal flotation devices or Life Jackets MUST be worn by all our paddlers properly zipped and/or buckled at all times while on the water, in the manner intended by the manufacturer. Persons not willing to follow this requirement are not permitted on our trips. Inflatable PFD’s are NOT allowed.
  • Sound signal (whistle, horn, etc.) is required.
  • If weather is questionable, contact leader.
  • Boat ramps can normally be used to launch canoes and kayaks but keep the boat ramp clear for boat trailers.
