Thursday Hike: Francis Carter Memorial Preserve, Charlestown

Please join us for our free guided trail walks on Thursdays. Walks are between 1.5 to 3 hours and are open to all ages with our target group being agile seniors. Please keep in mind that these are wooded trails with stumps, roots and rocks so be sure to wear hiking boots or good walking shoes. Be aware that our hikes leave promptly to please be on time.

- All hikers in State Management areas are required to wear 200 square inches of solid daylight fluorescent orange from the second Saturday in September to the last day of February and the third Saturday in April to the last day in May, annually.
THIS HIKE: Francis Carter Memorial Preserve, Charlestown
This hike on Nature Conservancy property has hilly wooded trails for easy walking and beautiful scenery. Directions: 400 Old Mill Road. From I-95 South, Exit 3A, Route 138 East. Drive 2.3 miles, bear right onto Rte. 112. Continue past the Carter Preserve sign on the right at curve. Follow dirt road under power lines to parking area. From Rte. 2, turn at Old Mill Restaurant, follow Rte. 112 to Old Mill Road on left, approx. 0.7 miles. (sign missing)
