THIS HIKE: Stepstone Falls & Ben Utter Trail, West Greenwich
This is one of the more beautiful walks in the state. The trail starts out uphill and passes through an abandoned state campground before dropping back into the valley. It continues upstream along the right bank of the Falls River to the cascade and the parking lot. The loop is about 3 miles long over well-trodden trails.
Directions: Take Rte 165 West 5 miles from Rte 3. Right (North) on Escoheag Hill Rd (paved) 2.3 miles. Right on Falls River Road (gravel) 1 mile, down a steep grade. Park by the river.
