Thursday Hike: TriTown Forest Preserve, North Stonington, CT
Thursday December 12th @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Please join us for our free guided trail walks on Thursdays. Walks are between 1.5 to 3 hours and are open to all ages with our target group being agile seniors. Please keep in mind that these are wooded trails with stumps, roots and rocks so be sure to wear hiking boots or good walking shoes. Be aware that our hikes leave promptly to please be on time.
- Inclement weather cancels. If in doubt, contact hike leader.
- All hikers in State Management areas are required to wear 200 square inches of solid daylight fluorescent orange from the second Saturday in September to the last day of February and the third Saturday in April to the last day in May, annually.
Carl from Avalonia who blazed the trails will be joining us again and leading us on a different section than we did in October 2019. TriTown Ridgeline Forest is the newest and largest land purchase finalized in 2018. It straddles Griswold, North Stonington and Preston covering 409 acres. It is a well blazed trail system with diverse topography. We will be meeting @ the Park & Ride @ the intersection of Rte 2 & I-95 in CT and carpooling from there.
