Thursday Paddle: Richmond Access/Landing (Aka John (Jay) Cronan Fishing Access) to Alton Dam
Thursday August 22nd @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Please join us for our free, guide kayak/canoe paddles on Thursdays. We will shuttle vehicles at 9:30AM. We will pass various local conservation lands, including some of our own Westerly Land Trust preserves. The paddle times will vary between 1.5 and 3 hours. Bring your own kayak/canoe, paddle, life jacket, whistle, water, snacks, etc. Some of us will go swimming. Be aware that our trips leave promptly so be on time! We will meet at put in points and carpool to takeout sites unless stated otherwise. This means you will have already dropped off your canoe/kayak at the put in and only drivers will go down to the takeout spot at 9:30AM.
PFD’s: Personal flotation devices or Life Jackets MUST be worn by all our paddlers properly zipped and/or buckled at all times while on the water, in the manner intended by the manufacturer. Inflatable PFD’s are not allowed.
Sound signal (whistle, horn, etc. ) is required

THIS PADDLE TRIP: Richmond Access/Landing (Aka John (Jay) Cronan Fishing Access) to Alton Dam: Richmond Access to Alton Dam, both on Rte 91, provides a short paddle with an even shorter shuttle. However, we will expend the usual amount of energy due to the upstream, Wood River part of the trip. Meet at Richmond Access early for a 9:30AM shuttle. This paddle will build your confidence.
