SUMMARY:Thursday Hike: Black Farm\, Hopkinton
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our free guided trail walks on Thursdays. All walks begin at 10:00 AM unless stated to the contrary. We will visit various local conservation properties\, including some of our Westerly Land Trust preserves.  Walks are between 1 ½ to 3 hours and are open to all ages with our target group being agile seniors. Please keep in mind that these are wooded trails with stumps\, roots and rocks so be sure to wear hiking boots or good walking shoes. Also\, you’ll want to bring water and maybe a snack. \nBlack Farm is a State Fish & Wildlife preserve. \nDirections: From the intersection with Rte 91 at Alton dam go north on the Woodville-Alton road 2 miles OR from I-95\, Exit #2 go south 1.3 miles on the Woodville-Alton road. The sign and parking area are on the east side of the road. Park close – there’s not much room. This is a glorious little area bordered by the Wood River. It is hilly with both deciduous and pine forest. There is a cemetery and foundations\, a stream\, several bridges and a kettle hole pond.
