SUMMARY:Thursday Paddle: John (Jay) Cronan River Access (Richmond Landing) to Bradford
DESCRIPTION:Bring your own kayak/canoe\, paddle\, life jacket\, whistle\, water\, snacks\, etc. This will be a longer paddle. The Pawcatuck River in this area is relatively wild\, with only occasional houses and bridges. The river is mostly quiet and relatively slow-moving. There are likely to be a fair number of trees down across the river\, but the Wood-Pawcatuck Watershed Association tries to maintain the route and at least provide a narrow passage past any downed trees that go across the river\, so except in the case of newly fallen trees you should not have to get out and lift your boat over or around trees\, but you may have to worm through some fairly narrow slots to get around downed trees. The Wood-Pawcatuck River Guide is highly recommended for paddling on the Wood-Pawcatuck river system. Co-Leaders: Sue & Geoff Sewall\, (401)377-2826 \nPut in: N 41º 26.706’ W 071º 40.889’    Take out: N 41º 24.363’ W 071º 44.905’ \nPLEASE NOTE: \n\nPFD’s: Personal flotation devices or Life Jackets MUST be worn by all our paddlers properly zipped and/or buckled at all times while on the water\, in the manner intended by the manufacturer. Persons not willing to follow this requirement are not permitted on our trips. Inflatable PFD’s are NOT allowed.\nSound signal (whistle\, horn\, etc.) is required.\nIf weather is questionable\, contact leader.\nIf you wish to have a free vessel safety check contact Sally Hanson. This can be done before or after a paddle as long as Sally is there.
