Celebrate The Equinox and the start of Spring with yoga on the trails of The Westerly Land Trust. Janice Fifer, yoga teacher and outdoor enthusiast, will lead this adventure at Grills Preserve. This experience will begin at the trailhead with centering and a short breathing practice, followed by a slow, silent walk, looking for signs of Spring, on the way to Big Rock. Once there participants can share their observations and Janice will lead a series of standing yoga poses. Picking up the pace the hike will proceed to Big Hill for some guided meditation. Then on to the Polly Coon Bridge for some more yoga! After pausing on the bridge to take in the sound of water flowing over rocks, it’s back to where we started for a closing circle.
No need for a yoga mat. Consider bringing an old towel or garden kneeling cushion to make sitting on the ground more comfortable. All levels welcome, no yoga experience necessary.
